Darwin B. Cooper, B. Com., C.A. has been involved in public practice accounting for over 20 years. Darwin articled and obtained his Chartered Accounting Designation in 1991. Darwin worked in Vancouver for six years with an International Accounting firm and moved to Red Deer in 1995 to assume the position of Audit Specialist with Cuthbertson Sandall Chartered Accountants (who later merged with BDO Dunwoody). In 2007, Darwin opted to enter into private financial planning and accounting consulting services prior to returning to public practice as a sole practitioner under Darwin Cooper Professional Corporation in 2008.
Darwin is involved in the community; he has acted as the co-ordinator of a group that volunteers to prepare personal income tax returns for senior citizens, he has served on the board and served two terms as President of Riverbend Golf and Recreation Society, and he is currently the Treasurer of the Red Deer Hospice Society.
